Sorbothane Acoustic and Vibration Isolation Square 6" x 6" Pads

Product Review (submitted on December 13, 2017):
These Sorbothane pads are awesome to stop vibration transmission, very unique material, and very effective. I only wish they were available in more pre-cut sizes and packaged quantities. Frequently you need 4 pieces but only offered in packages of one or two, so have to pay prime overnight shipping premium double or quadruple to get 4 pieces overnight. So I ordered a single larger slab to cut myself into 4 smaller pieces. Difficult but not impossible to cut yourself into smaller pieces from a bigger slab, but consumers don't have water-jet-cutting equipment like manufacturer for nice clean finished edges or rounded corners. I used a large kitchen knife with a rubber hammer to get a clean straight cut, but still not as nice as factory edges.

The material is very sticky, but not enough to permanently adhere. You'll need some double-sided adhesive film if you want to afix them to something (like to use as rubber feet). You will not be able to slide them around unless you afix something else to the bottom. I used a thin piece of plastic on the bottom to provide a sliding surface.

Compared to rubber, these are more like a very thick gel consistency. The higher the duro number, the less squishy the pad. Pay attention to the weight rating. I started with a 30 duro 2-inch pads for cabinet "feet" but they were too squishy for my heavy cabinet and deformed significantly (edges bowed out). I switched to 70 duro and it worked great. Did not try the 50 duro but probably will next time -- the 70 is a lot more rigid than the 30.
